Business Loan Documentation Checklist

A general checklist of documents businesses are commonly asked to provide during underwriting.

Documentation requirements vary by financing type and lender, but several items come up frequently. Gathering them early speeds things up.

Commonly requested items

Depending on the product and amount, you may be asked for some or all of the following:

  • Recent business bank statements
  • Business tax returns
  • Financial statements such as a profit-and-loss and balance sheet
  • Business formation and identification documents
  • A summary of existing business obligations

Handle documents securely

Financial documents contain sensitive information. Share them only through secure, encrypted channels rather than ordinary email.

A note on requirements

Not every product requires every item. Your underwriting contact can tell you which documents actually apply to your inquiry.
